  • Yaatsil Guevara González is PhD candidate in Sociology at the Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology. She is currently research fellow at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence (IKG-Bielefeld University). She studied Anthropology and holds a Masters in Regional Studies. Her research focuses on refugee studies, forced displacement, gender, and anthropology of everyday life. She has also conducted research on radicalization, extremism and Muslim minorities. Her research brings together different disciplines such as anthropology, sociology, area and gender studies. In her doctoral research she discusses how Honduran refugees cope with their stranded mobility in Mexico’s southern border. She has conducted research in Mexico, Central America, U.S., and Germany.
