Dr. Sayed Mahdi Mosawi is a research fellow at the Alwaleed Centre for the Study of Islam in the Contemporary World, University of Edinburgh, UK. His research focuses on migration and transnationalism, the Muslim diaspora and refugees, and gender and masculinities. He has conducted extensive fieldwork in diverse contexts, including the UK, Germany, Afghanistan, and Iran. Dr. Mosawi holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Hacettepe University, Turkey. He has organized and taught various undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Edinburgh, including ‘Muslims in Europe’ and ‘Unfolding Afghanistan in a Globalised Context.’ He is also a scholar member of IMISCOE (International Migration, Integration and Social Cohesion).
