Frowin Rausis is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Geneva. In his PhD thesis, he analyzed the patterns, motives, and justifications underpinning the diffusion of safe country policies that allow states to narrow their responsibility in refugee protection by restricting access to asylum and protection on their own territory. In his ongoing research, he studies the politics of international migration, exploring how states navigate competing interests and conflicting norms and how they balance their responsibility to refugees and those owed to other states.
