Federica Franzè is a Senior Lecturer in Italian at Columbia University and one of the Directors of the language program. She has a Ph.D. in German and comparative literature with a focus on cinema and literature of migration, and in 2021, she earned a Master’s Degree in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies from the University of London. Her thesis on integration projects for asylum seekers and refugees in Italy was recently published in the Refugee Law Initiative. Her current research project focuses on the Humanitarian Corridors implemented in Italy since 2015 as legal pathways and alternative models of solidarity. She is actively involved in volunteering integration projects for refugees and asylum seekers in NYC and in Italy.
