Mutsvara, Shepherd, Dr.

Dr. Shepherd Mutsvara’s research examines the legal and political construction of „the refugee“ with a focus on EU asylum law and border externalization. His broader work engages economic migration, racism and discrimination in the context of human (im)mobility, and Africa’s refugee policy and protection regimes. As a scholar from the Global South, Dr. Mutsvara interrogates how asymmetric power relations between states shape restrictive and unequal migration and asylum policies, reproducing global hierarchies in mobility and protection.
